First harnessed for second-and third-degree burns, to aid tissue healing, Polynucleotides (PN’s) have gained a firm footing in the field of medical aesthetics. They sit in the arena of “regenerative medicine” as they stimulate and boost the skin cycle, reversing skin aging.

They may be used on the face, eyes, neck, hands, decolletage, knees – in fact anywhere, where the skin requires a boost.

When we’re in our 20s, we enjoy a skin cycle that is approximately three weeks in length, with an abundance of Type 1 (“good”) collagen produced as the cycle fires up again. This leads to the synthesis of collagen and elastin and stimulates new blood vessels (angiogenesis), that aids in tissue regeneration. PN’s also reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which have an anti-inflammatory effect on the tissue.
